The Stockholm Chamber of Commerce’s overarching goal is to make the Stockholm region Europe’s number one capital. As part of this goal, we also strive to be the capital of tech, where innovation and cutting-edge business can thrive. But where does Stockholm stand today and what progress is being made?

Why Capital of Tech?
Stockholm is already known as a unicorn factory, so why do we need ”Capital of Tech”?
– Stockholm has an amazing tech scene, producing some of the world’s foremost unicorns, however the global tech industry is always evolving and we too must continue to adapt. The ambition and drive from like-minded cities around the world to push for innovation, generate capital and develop their respective tech scenes, mean that we need to ensure Stockholm stays ahead of the game, says Peter Sandberg, the initiator of Capital of Tech.
How has it been received so far?
– Since we started in 2023, we have had seminars and roundtable discussions on everything from the AI explosion to SaaS initiatives, which have been met with great interest. Our community both new and old have praised it as a great platform for learning, discussion and a chance to meet fellow peers, investors, and the wider business community in an informal setting.
What areas will you be covering in upcoming events?
– We will take the pulse of the tech scene, looking at how it is faring during the current financial climate, and what challenges lie ahead. In line with this, we will be launching a report that delves into Stockholm’s current global ranking. Our aim is to explore some of the broader, more general business areas, and areas where we feel the tech community can be part of the solution, Peter says.

Engagemanget var stort under kvällen, då flera av branschens frontfigurer möttes och diskuterade tech-sektorns framtid.
