Maria Malmer Stenergard
Maria Malmer Stenergard has served as Sweden’s Minister for Foreign Affairs since 2024. Her previous roles held in government have included Minister for Migration from 2022-2024 and Chair of the Parliamentary Committee on Social Insurance from 2019-2022. In addition, she has been a member of the Swedish Parliament since 2014 and served on the Moderate Party’s executive board since 2021.
Before entering politics, she pursued a legal career, working as a Kronofogde (enforcement officer) at the Swedish Enforcement Authority and as a court clerk at Hässleholm District Court. She also practised as an associate lawyer at Malmer & Larsson AB.
