Thórdís Kolbrún Gylfadóttir

Thórdís Kolbrún Gylfadóttir is a seasoned Icelandic politician and Member of Parliament since 2016.

Over the course of eight years in government, she has held several key ministerial posts. She was appointed Minister of Foreign Affairs in 2024, having previously served in the same role between 2021 and 2023.

Her ministerial portfolio also includes Minister of Finance and Economic Affairs (2023–2024), Minister of Justice (2019), and Minister of Tourism, Industry and Innovation (2017–2021). Between 2018 and 2025, she served as vice chair of Iceland’s Independence Party.

Since February 2025, she has served as the Special Envoy of the Secretary General of the Council of Europe, focusing on the situation of children affected by the war in Ukraine.
