Áslaug Arna Sigurbjörnsdóttir
Áslaug Arna Sigurbjörnsdóttir is a Member of Parliament in Iceland, elected in 2016. She previously served as Iceland’s Minister of Justice and later as Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation, as well as Secretary of the Independence Party.
Her work focuses on artificial intelligence, digital transformation and how governments can strengthen delivery, institutional trust and long-term competitiveness in a shifting geopolitical environment. She has emphasised execution, coalition-building and the modernisation of public institutions to deliver measurable results.
Sigurbjörnsdóttir holds a law degree from the University of Iceland and is currently completing a Master of Public Administration in Global Leadership at Columbia University.
Prior to entering politics, she worked as a police officer and a journalist.
