Birgitte Ringstad Vartdal
Birgitte Ringstad Vartdal is the CEO of Statkraft, Europe’s largest producer of renewable energy. She was appointed CEO following several years in Statkraft’s Group Management, where she joined in 2020 as Executive Vice President for European Wind and Solar. From 2022, she served as Executive Vice President for the Nordics before assuming her current role.
Prior to joining Statkraft, Ringstad Vartdal was CEO of Golden Ocean and previously served as CFO of the company. Her career also includes senior management roles within the Torvald Klaveness Group, as well as experience from Norsk Hydro’s energy division.
She currently serves on the board of the Confederation of Norwegian Enterprise (NHO) and has held several board positions, including at Mowi, Yara, Seadrill and Renewables Norway. Ringstad Vartdal holds a Master of Science in Physics and Mathematics from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) in Trondheim and a Master of Science in Financial Mathematics from Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh.
