Martin Modéus
Martin Modéus is the Archbishop of Uppsala and Primate of the Church of Sweden, a role he has held since December 2022.
Ordained a priest in 1986, Modéus has served in a number of roles within the Church of Sweden. From 2011 to 2022, he was Bishop of Linköping, following several years in the Diocese of Stockholm, where he was responsible for church service development.
Modéus holds a PhD in Old Testament exegesis from Lund University and is the author of several books, including Every Picture Tells a Story (2023) and Fredsteologi i krigets skugga (2026).
